The recall stems from an improperly secured brake pedal pivot pin, which may cause the pedal to shift out of position. According to Honda, this defect can lead to:

The recall impacts three popular models across Honda and its luxury Acura brand:
- 2023-2025 Honda Pilot (184,253 vehicles)
- 2021-2025 Acura TLX
- 2023-2025 Acura MDX
What Owners Should Do
Honda will notify affected vehicle owners by mail starting August 5, 2024. The company advises:
- Check your vehicle’s VIN on the NHTSA recall website
- Schedule a free inspection at an authorized Honda/Acura dealer
- If needed, technicians will replace the brake pedal at no cost
Owners who previously paid for brake pedal repairs related to this issue may be eligible for reimbursement through Honda’s recall reimbursement program.
