# Gigi Zumbado Reveals the Challenges of Filming ‘Bride Hard’ While Pregnant
## The Rising Star Opens Up About Her Role in the New Action Comedy
ComingSoon recently sat down with Gigi Zumbado, known for her work on *The Rookie*, to discuss her experience filming the upcoming action comedy *Bride Hard*. The film, which combines the humor of *Bridesmaids* with explosive action sequences, features an impressive ensemble cast including Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp. Set for theatrical release on June 20, 2025, by Magenta Light Studios, *Bride Hard* promises to deliver non-stop entertainment.
### A Star-Studded Female Ensemble
When asked about working with such a talented group of actresses, Zumbado couldn’t contain her excitement. “They’re insane,” she exclaimed. “I feel like I made a deal with the devil—I don’t know what I did to deserve being part of this cast.” The actress went on to praise her co-stars as “the funniest, fiercest, most beautiful group of girls,” noting that filming in Savannah, Georgia—a popular bachelorette party destination—added to the fun atmosphere on set.
### Working with Da’Vine Joy Randolph
One of the film’s standout moments features Oscar-winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph delivering a hilarious rendition of Khia’s “My Neck, My Back” to Zumbado’s pregnant belly. “I think she picked that song herself,” Zumbado revealed. “I didn’t know what she was going to sing, and when she started, I was like, ‘That’s what you’re going with? Okay, we’re in!'”
Zumbado expressed admiration for Randolph’s commitment to the role, saying, “She’s so easy to be comfortable with right off the bat. I wasn’t expecting how committed she was going to be to this role, and I really look up to her as an actress because she just had a blast with us.”
### The Challenges of Playing Pregnant
One of the more challenging aspects of Zumbado’s role was wearing a pregnancy prosthetic throughout filming. “It was absolutely terrible,” she admitted with a laugh. “The movie’s great, I loved the movie. The belly? I could do without for the rest of my life.”
Filming in Savannah’s humid climate made the experience particularly difficult. “It was so hot, very moist, locked in there,” Zumbado explained. “It was difficult to go to the bathroom, so once I strapped in for the day, I kind of committed, and it was pretty brutal under there.”
### A Breakout Year for the Actress
With *Heart Eyes* earlier this year and now *Bride Hard*, 2025 is shaping up to be a significant year for Zumbado’s career. “I’m really grateful,” she said. “It’s really a huge blessing.” The actress comes from a family of performers—she has two sisters who are also actresses—and she recognizes the hard work and sacrifices that have brought her to this point.
“In my family, we always pass the torch,” Zumbado shared. “One of us is the one thriving each year, or someone doing something. So I’m happy to sit in the throne right now and claim the spot.”
*Bride Hard* follows secret agent Sam (Rebel Wilson) as she tries to navigate her role as maid of honor at her best friend’s destination wedding while simultaneously dealing with a team of mercenaries who crash the party. The film promises to deliver equal parts humor and action, with Wilson’s character battling bad guys in heels while trying not to ruin the big day.
