Cineverse has officially announced theatrical release dates for two highly anticipated horror films: Return to Silent Hill and the reboot of Silent Night, Deadly Night. Both movies will be distributed in partnership with Iconic Events Releasing through Cineverse’s horror division, Bloody Disgusting.

Silent Night, Deadly Night Release Date

The reboot of the 1984 cult classic Silent Night, Deadly Night will hit theaters on December 12, 2025. The film stars Rohan Campbell as Billy Chapman, a traumatized young man who witnessed his parents’ murder by a killer dressed as Santa Claus. Years later, Billy dons the Santa suit himself and goes on a violent rampage.

The cast includes Ruby Modine as Pamela, along with Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson. Mike P. Nelson (V/H/S/85) directs from his own screenplay, with original producers Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead returning alongside new producers Jamie R. Thompson, Erik Bernard, and Jeremy Torrie.

Return to Silent Hill Release Date

The third installment in the Silent Hill film franchise, Return to Silent Hill, will premiere on January 23, 2026. Jeremy Irvine stars as James, a heartbroken man who receives a mysterious letter from his lost love Mary (Hannah Emily Anderson) summoning him back to the haunted town.

Christophe Gans, who directed the original 2006 Silent Hill movie, returns to helm this new chapter. The film features music by Akira Yamaoka, the composer of the iconic video game series. Producers include Victor Hadida of Davis Films and Molly Hassell of Hassell Free Productions.

What to Expect From These Horror Releases

Both films promise to deliver chilling experiences for horror fans:

  • Silent Night, Deadly Night reboots the controversial holiday slasher with modern filmmaking techniques while maintaining its shocking premise
  • Return to Silent Hill continues the atmospheric psychological horror of the game-based franchise with Gans’ distinctive visual style

Final Thoughts

This announcement gives horror enthusiasts two major theatrical events to look forward to in late 2025 and early 2026. The December release of Silent Night, Deadly Night makes it perfect counter-programming to traditional holiday films, while Return to Silent Hill could revitalize the beloved video game adaptation franchise. With talented directors at the helm of both projects and strong production teams behind them, these releases have the potential to become new horror classics. The staggered release schedule also allows each film to have its moment in the spotlight without competing for the same audience.
